The fourth module in our Frontline Worker Programme, provided by Pennysmart CIC. This workshop will enable participants to recognise signs of poverty and exclusion, understand the benefits of money advice and what regulated advice means. They can then use the skills & knowledge to help beneficiaries to access the best, most appropriate, free and impartial money, benefits and debt advice available and support them through the money advice process.

The session will include:

  • The difference between information, guidance, advice and casework services and regulated debt advice.
  • How to react appropriately if someone confides in you that they have a debt problem
  • Identifying the most common causes of debt and how to spot the common symptoms of financial crisis
  • Know which type of advice provision and what level of support meets your client’s needs and how to access
  • How to make a referral to Pennysmart CIC and/or other money advice providers

No prior knowledge is needed or assumed to benefit from this workshop.
