Member Spotlight: Grocery Aid Day

Grocery Aid Day, a chance to celebrate people who work or have worked in the grocery industry. This includes anyone who works for a supermarket, wholesaler, manufacturer, convenience store, independent grocer, petrol forecourt store or service provider to the grocery trade, including the foodservice wholesale sector.

GroceryAid supports people who work or have worked in the grocery industry. This includes anyone who works for a supermarket, wholesaler, manufacturer, convenience store, independent grocer, petrol forecourt store or service provider to the grocery trade, including the foodservice wholesale sector.

GroceryAid Day is taking place on Thursday 9 May 2024 and is the annual awareness day of the charity following the theme WE HELP YOU. Their toolkits for the occasion can be found here.

On this day, hundreds of organisations will be telling colleagues about the charity’s free and confidential financial, emotional and practical services available to them 24/7, 365 days a year.

Those within the industry can access GroceryAid’s services from the first day of their employment. After six months of continuous employment, if they have had experienced a drop a in income, they may be eligible for a non-repayable financial grant.

Support and further advice are also available through the website, www.groceryaid.org.uk\get-help. The website has an accessibility toolbar which translates the content into over 100 different languages, as well as text to speech in 60 languages
