Journalists’ Charity appoints new CEO

Former BBC journalist, regional radio producer and TV executive James Brindle is appointed new CEO of the Journalists’ Charity upon retirement of its former Director.

James was announced as the Journalists’ Charity’s new CEO on 1st April, and succeeds David Ilott, who was Director of the charity for 22 years.

James brings to the role industry insight, with operational and management experience in television, radio and digital Media across the UK.

James said: “‘I’m delighted to join this great organisation at a time when world events continually remind us how much we need journalism and journalists. The charity has offered a lifeline for thousands of colleagues since it was founded in 1864 and I want to make sure we’re here to help for generations to come.”
